" The cyclist is a man half made of flesh and half of steel that only our century of science and iron could have spawned."

STYRKEPRøVEN

After doing a few thousand km locally I was starting to get a feel for the type of riding that I enjoy the most. Long distance cycling 50km, 100km, 200km … all felt great.

The biggest and oldest historical Norwegian cycle event is the ride from Trondheim to Oslo, Styrkeprøven.  Taking you over the Dovre mountain and down the valley to Oslo

I came across this article about the race and it had me hooked … I signed up for the race at the end of last year and did the ride in June of this year.

I started Friday night and a little over 20 hours and 550km later I was in Oslo. I had also read about the Transcontinental, Trans Am Bike race and bought the video ‘Inspired to Ride’ .. which gave me even more inspiration 🙂

Staying focused, riding and keep riding .. that has the appeal

So next step up is to apply for the Transcontinental … Just have to x my fingers and hope I get selected for 2017 ….
